Cocotero Acentuar's first offspring is now a yearling and has turned out to more than meet our expectations.

A colt - our first wish -and then a dark bay - our next wish - both came to fruition.

Nikau, now a beautiful yearling (gelded at 6 months) is just a super boy.

He has the most beautiful paces like his mum but again a fantastic attitude like his sire Tuatahi. He is a brave yet sensible character and takes things in his stride.

We are really pleased with his size as well as he is already neck-and-neck with his mum and he is just a yearling.

Although we have not bred Coco again this season due to space and time constraints we intend to next season all going to plan, as we are exceptionally pleased with the results.

Obviously Nikau will not be a pony and much to Elsa's delight is looking at this stage by growing into a good strong 16hh mount for her.

Elsa chose Coco, who was unfortunately for the breeders injured as a foal, as a breeding prospect.

She is by Ramazotti, well known for his jumping bloodlines being by Ramiro Z, one of the most successful sires of show jumpers in the world known as the "King of Sires" and dubbed "Stallion of the Century". He also sired Grand Prix dressage stars Rio Negro, Rampal and Lectron.

Ramazotti had scores of 10 for character, 9 for temperament and many 8s for his canter and jump he is out of Bilithya, one of the highest decorated mares in The Netherlands.

The cross with Kaitake Tuatahi has been very successful. He imparts a great willingness, good bone and temperament - something that has helped us learn and work with all his offspring with ease so far. A good all-round stallion with a well balanced nature.
